The name of this apple variety is "Wealthy". It is aptly named, as the tree is very productive and the apples are quite versatile. They are slightly tart and juicy for fresh eating. They make great pies, applesauce, cider and wine. They are also fun to photograph! These beauties were freshly washed and were just hanging out in the sun for a quick photo shoot before they went back into the kitchen to be enjoyed.
I am a 1977 graduate of Cornell's School of Architecture, Art & Planning with a BFA in Fine Arts, majoring in painting and printmaking. Upon graduation I received the Goodwin Sands Memorial Medal for "exceptional merit in art". After a long hiatus, I have recently resumed my art career, currently concentrating on digital photography.
