There’s always something interesting to find in the swamp, especially in the late winter/early spring. Here, most of the ice has melted, leaving just a few ice crystals here and there. The submerged leaves are clearly visible, and it seems that over the winter one of the leaf points pierced right through the leaf above it.
I am a 1977 graduate of Cornell's School of Architecture, Art & Planning with a BFA in Fine Arts, majoring in painting and printmaking. Upon graduation I received the Goodwin Sands Memorial Medal for "exceptional merit in art". After a long hiatus, I have recently resumed my art career, currently concentrating on digital photography.
