About Patricia Overmoyer
I am a 1977 graduate of Cornell's School of Architecture, Art & Planning with a BFA in Fine Arts, majoring in painting and printmaking. Upon graduation I received the Goodwin Sands Memorial Medal for "exceptional merit in art". After a long hiatus, I have recently resumed my art career, currently concentrating on digital photography. I live with my family in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of New York State, and have enjoyed finding and capturing the extraordinary beauty in and around our 86-acre property. I so love this...Ive wanted to do a portrait of a cicada emerging from shell since childhood...what a beautiful and rare capture!

This has a wonderful duality to it! I hear them all the time in the Summer of Georgia. I have never actually seen them, and its like they know when it is going to get hotter!! Then they are quiet when the rain comes here.
